CVS is a drug store chain located primarily in the United States that offers prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins and supplements, medical supplies, beauty products and general household goods. The CVS ExtraCare program is designed as a rewards program that offers coupons, discounts and reward "ExtraBucks" that can be used on purchases in the store. CVS ExtraCare Information

  • Signing up for the CVS ExtraCare card is an easy process that can be completed online through the CVS.com website. Customers simply click on the "ExtraCare" link to get started. They will receive a credit card-sized membership card as well as a keyring card for convenience. This card will be used on every transaction made at the store or online. The card activates special coupons and deals advertised in the chain's weekly circular.
  • Shoppers may also receive special discounts or deal notifications by physical mail and email.
  • Advertised savings usually are not applied unless the CVS ExtraCare card is presented at checkout.
  • The card can be used to connect to an existing CVS.com account, or linked to a new online account.[3]
  • Sometimes customers who purchase specific brands advertised in the weekly circular receive additional ExtraBucks that print on the receipt at checkout.[1]

CVS ExtraCare Benefits

The main ExtraCare program provides "ExtraBucks" in exchange for purchases. Customers will receive 2% of the eligible purchase total online or in-store and 1 ExtraBuck for every 2 eligible prescriptions filled in the pharmacy. One "ExtraBuck" equates to $1. At times, CVS circulars will list additional opportunities to earn ExtraBucks.

Every three months, the shopper's total ExtraBucks will print out on a receipt that he can use to redeem his savings. Customers can also print off their ExtraBucks certificate online through the ExtraCare management tool. When redeeming ExtraBucks, shoppers must use the entire amount listed. Partial redemption of the reward is not allowed.[3]

Some ExtraBucks for brands advertised in the weekly circular may be available immediately after purchase. For a shopper who purchases the specified items, an ExtraBucks certificate will be printed along with their receipt.[3]

Online shoppers who sign in to their accounts may have access to special website promotions that are only available to CVS ExtraCare members. Scanning an ExtraCare card at a savings kiosk located near the front of a retail CVS store can provide instant rebates and coupons to use on purchases. Discounts available online may not be available in-store and in-store and circular offers are often not valid for online purchases.
