About Claritin

Claritin is a brand name for loratadine, an antihistamine used to provide temporary relief of allergy symptoms without drowsiness. Claritin lasts for a full 24 hours, and is intended for both indoor and outdoor use. 12-hour formulas are also available. Varieties of Claritin include Claritin 24, Claritin D, Claritin 12-hour RediTabs and Claritin Liqui-Gels, among others. The first two are tablets swallowed whole, the third is a dissolving tablet and the latter is a liquid-filled capsule. Claritn D also contains a pseudoephedrine, and for this reason it is only available from behind the counter. All other Claritin products are in the aisle with other allergy medicines.[5] Syrups and chewable tablets are also available in children's strength.[6]
