DHEA coupons can lead to savings on DHEA purchased from a number of sources. Some coupons may be distributed by various retailers that carry this supplement, while others may come directly from the manufacturers themselves.

DHEA, or Dehydroepiandrosterone, is a hormone that occurs naturally in the human body. DHEA supplements are sometimes used by athletes attempting to increase performance, as well as by individuals who wish to slow the aging process. It may also be used to help increase bone density, to ease HIV/AIDS symptoms and to treat other conditions. The FDA has not approved DHEA supplements for any of these uses. There is no prescription required to purchase DHEA, and it may be available from vitamin and health food stores, as well as Internet retailers.[1]

About DHEA

DHEA is Dehydroepiandrosterone, also called prasterone, DHEA-S or GL701.[1] While the hormone is already present in the body, people who suffer from various medical conditions, such as anorexia or diabetes, may have low levels of this hormone. DHEA production also decreases with age, and less is made by the body after the age of 30 years.[3]

Research has shown that taking DHEA supplements may improve the appearance of aging skin among the elderly, help correct erectile dysfunction in some cases, ease lupus symptoms and help combat osteoporosis.[1]
