About Daytrana
Daytrana contains an ADHD medication delivered through a removable patch. The patch is applied to the hip and starts working approximately two hours after application. The Daytrana Patch is designed to be removed after nine hours or less, and the medicinal effects of drug can be felt for up to several hours after removal. Parents have the option to apply the patch while their children are sleeping, allowing the medicine to take effect by the time they are ready to start school or participate in other activities that require concentration. Daytrana can be applied later and taken off earlier of daily activities do not require medication.
Daytrana usage presents similar side effects as those found in other ADHD treaments such as problems falling asleep, weight loss, stomach problems, dizziness and mood swings. Daytrana also has skin-related side effects. Patients may experience some itching, redness or small bumps on and around where the patch is applied.[2]

- Patients using insurance or paying out-of-pocket for Daytrana can register for Daytrana prescription coupons. The coupons are valued at up to $60, and may be used for up to 12 prescriptions. Each prescription refill may not exceed 30 patches. Those who have already obtained and/or used a Daytrana co-pay savings card, which is no longer available, still qualify for an additional 12 months of savings with the coupons.[3]
- Residents of Massachusetts, who are restricted by law from using drug coupons, can receive up to 30 Daytona patches for free. *Meidcaid patients are also eligible for 30 free patches.
