About Geodon

Geodon is available in capsule form to be take orally to fight manic or mixed episodes that occur with bipolar disorder. It is not to be used to treat elderly patients who suffer from dementia. Geodon is sometimes used in combination with other medications such as lithium and valproate to help keep bipolar disorder at bay.[3]

Geodon must be used daily in order to be effective. Some patients may experience unpleasant side effects while using this medication, such as upset stomach, drowsiness, bowel issues, muscle tremors or other involuntary movements, restlessness, runny nose, cough or rash. A low percentage of patients taking Geodon will gain weight during treatment.[4]
