Levitra Patient Assistance Programs
From Pharmacy Drug Guide
Levitra is a prescription medication used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction, also known as ED or impotence. Levitra patient assistance programs, when available, can help lower the cost of the prescription drug, especially for individuals who are facing financial hardships or meet lower income thresholds. The assistance programs can provide free or discounted prescriptions to patients who qualify. An application is required to be approved for assistance.[1]
On occasion, coupons may be issued for Levitra through the official website or health care providers. In addition, physicians may be able to provide free samples of the ED medication.

Levitra Information
Levitra, or vardenafil HCI, was first approved by the FDA in 2003.[4] The prescription medication is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, and works by relaxing muscles and increasing blood flow to the penis so that an erection occurs with sexual stimulation. Levitra is prescribed for men suffering from ED, and allows them to develop and keep an erection.[5]
Levitra does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases. The drug is not intended for females, and could cause harm to babies if pregnant or breastfeeding women consume it. Levitra may cause adverse interactions when taken by patients using alpha blockers, antifungals, and other medications.[5]
Like all medications, Levitra can cause side effects. Not all patients will experience side effects, and they can range from mild to severe. Commonly, those taking Levitra have reported flushing, upset stomach, heartburn, blocked or runny nasal passages or headaches. Rare but severe side effects include changes in vision, chest pain, muscle pain, loss of hearing and seizures.[2]
Levitra Patient Assistance Programs
Currently, Bayer does not include Levitra in their official patient assistance program, but inclusion is subject to change. If the drug is added, patients who do not qualify for government assistance for medications and their income is below poverty-level guidelines could qualify for free assistance. Patients may inquire with physicians for the latest coverage guidelines, as they have to initiate coverage requests.[3]
Although patient assistance programs are not available for Levitra, Xubex does offer the drug at a savings through their Discount Medication Program. There are no income or insurance requirements; all patients are eligible for savings with a doctor's prescription.[6]
