If a patient is suffering from high blood pressure, their doctor may prescribe some form of the generic drug lisinopril to help treat the condition. It is sold in the United States under the brand names Zestril and Prinivil. Lisinopril is a cardiovascular agent that is used to treat hypertension and heart failure, and is also given to some heart attack patients. It helps to open up the blood vessels by lowering the amounts of certain chemicals in the body. Some pills contain a combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide, or HCTZ.[1]

The cost of lisinopril, like many other medications, can add up quickly. Lisinopril patient assistance programs and lisinopril coupons provide discounted or free lisinopril.

About Lisinopril

Lisinopril is prescribed by physicians to treat hypertension, which is more commonly known as high blood pressure. High blood pressure is a serious condition, as it can cause strain on the arteries as well as the heart. If left untreated, high blood pressure may result in heart failure, stroke or other complications. Lisinopril may be used alone or used in combination with other medications to help treat this condition. It may also be used after a heart attack to help lower the risk of death. Lisinopril is classified as an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor.[1]

Lisinopril Patient Assistance Programs and Coupons

Doctors' offices often have coupons or free samples for prescription drugs. If no lisinopril or lisinopril hctz coupons or samples are readily available, physicians may be able to order them from drug manufacturers. Coupons will typically be for brand name products, like Prinivil® and Zestril®.

When no coupons are available, patients may still be able to save on lisinopril through patient assistance programs:
