About Mobic

Mobic is sold as tablets in two strengths--7.5mg and 15mg--and in a liquid; either form can be taken without regard to mealtimes. The most common side effects from Mobic are:[1]

  • Diarrhea
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Upset stomach or indigestion

Patients taking Mobic can have serious and potentially fatal heart attacks or strokes; those with existing cardiovascular disease are at greater risk. Serious stomach bleeding can occur, so those with a history of ulcers should use caution. Fluid retention, edema, increasing blood pressure, and liver or kidney damage can occur.[1] These warnings are extended to all NSAIDs. Some of these, such as Aleve and ibuprofen, are available over the counter.
