Nasonex Coupons
From Pharmacy Drug Guide
Nasonex is a nasal spray prescribed to treat allergic symptoms such as itchy nose, runny nose, sneezing and congestion, in adults and children over the age of 2. Nasonex is reported to be non-habit forming, unlike other types of nasal sprays. The active ingredient in Nasonex is mometasone, and it is used to fight both indoor allergies that occur year-round, as well as outdoor allergies that occur seasonally (called hay fever). Possible allergens that Nasonex can help combat include dander from pets, mold and pollen.[1]
Schering Corp., a part of Merck & Co. Inc., offers printable Nasonex coupons to reduce the out of pocket cost for the nasal spray. Patients who have trouble affording their Nasonex can also receive help from Nasonex patient assistance programs.

Nasonex Patient Assistance Programs and Coupons
The Schering-Plough Corporation offers patients a $15 coupon for Nasonex prescriptions. One coupon can be printed every 30 days, enabling patients to save up to $180 a year. The coupon can be applied to a co-pay. Patients need to print up a new coupon every time they fill a new prescription. The coupon may only be used by patients who either pay for Nasonex out-of-pocket or have private insurance. Those who have public insurance, such as Medicare, will not be able to use it.[3]
Patients who need more financial assistance than the coupon provides can apply for assistance through Schering Plough Cares, a patient assistance program. Eligibility information can be found by calling 1-800-656-9485. Patients who receive assistance can get up to a year of medication for free with a single application. They can also reapply for the program as many times as they need.[1]

About Nasonex
Nasonex is a brand of mometasone nasal inhalation medication. It is not an antihistamine or a decongestant. It is a topical steroid nasal spray which treats allergy symptoms caused by dust mites, pet dander, and tree and grass pollen. Nasonex can also be prescribed to prevent allergy symptoms. If used as a preventative treatment, the patient should begin using Nasonex two to four weeks before exposure to the allergen.
Some of the more common side effects of Nasonex include coughing, throat irritation, headache and upset stomach. In some cases, severe side effects like wheezing, oral or nasal yeast infection, and altered vision can occur. In these cases, patients are advised to seek immediate medical help.[4]
