One Touch test strip coupons can help diabetics control the costs of managing their disease. One Touch test strips are used by diabetics to test their blood sugar on a regular basis to determine how well their disease is controlled. Savings may come in the form of coupons when available, or as free products sent by the manufacturer.

Diabetes is an incurable disease, but it can be managed by lifestyle changes and medical support. Untreated or out-of-control diabetes leads to cardiovascular, nerve damage, kidney disease and failure, erectile dysfunction, and eye disease.[1] The key to controlling diabetes is eating a healthy diet and regular testing to determine the body's blood sugar level. This process, carried out several times a day as directed by a healthcare provider, requires blood glucose meters, test strips, and other paraphernalia.[2]

About Diabetes

The term "diabetes" describes a group of disorders in which the body has high blood sugar because it either does not produce enough insulin or because the insulin that is produced is not effective. There are three main types of diabetes:

  • Type 1, usually diagnosed in childhood
  • Type 2, adult-onset
  • Type 3, gestational, appearing during pregnancy

High blood sugar results in increased urination, thirst, and hunger. Diabetes affects the way the body digests food for energy. Risk factors for Type-2 diabetes are family history, inactive lifestyle, and being middle-aged or older. Ethnicity also plays a role; African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans have a higher risk of developing diabetes.[10]
