About Pulmicort

Pulmicort is a corticosteroid, and is administered by using either an inhaler or a nebulizer.[5] Pulmicort is prescribed for children over the age of 6, as well as for adults.[2] The drug is sold under the brand names Pulmicort Respules (suspension for use in a nebulizer), Pulmicort Turbuhaler (a dry powder inhaler), and Pulmicort pMDI (a pressurized metered dose inhaler).[5]

The Pilmicort Flexhaler contains minute amounts of lactose, and may cause allergies in those with serious milk protein allergies. It will not, however, adversely affect patients who are lactose intolerant.[2]
