About Sertraline
Sertraline is classified as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), and is prescribed to treat depression and other various mental conditions. It works by upping seratonin levels in the brain. Seratonin is a "feel good" chemical, and low levels of seratonin are linked to mood disorders. Sertraline is also sometimes used to treat premature ejaculation in men.
Sertraline comes in the form of a tablet, a capsule, and a liquid solution, all administered orally.[2] Sertraline may cause an increased suicide risk among teens and young adults.[3]

The card is not available for patients who will have their sertraline expenses partially or fully reimbursed by state or federal insurance (like Medicare or Medicaid), or those who have private insurance that reimburses the entire amount. The card is only for adult patients who reside in the United States or Puerto Rico.
