Symbicort is the brand name for a budesonide and formoterol inhalation system manufactured by AstraZeneca. This inhaler uses the drug combination to prevent bronchospasms and breathing problems in patients who have been diagnosed with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Symbicort is not intended to treat sudden asthma attacks, and is not meant to replace fast-acting asthma inhalers.

Understanding Symbicort side effects can help minimize serious medical impacts of the drug. Some of the more common adverse reactions to Symbicort include irritation of the nose and throat, infections of the respiratory tract, oral thrush, bronchitis and sinus infection.[1]
