Triaminic free samples can help consumers determine if the cold, allergy and flu medication is best for their child's symptoms before purchasing it. In addition to free samples, Triaminic coupons can also help consumers save money on their next purchase of the medication.

Triaminic was first marketed as an over-the-counter (OTC) children's cough and cold product in 1956. It is used to treat nasal congestion and sinusitis symptoms that are typically associated with allergies and hay fever, as well as the common cold.[1] Some Triaminic products contain antihistamines to alleviate congestion, sneezing, itching and watery eye symptoms and/or decongestants to assist in the clearing of nasal passages.[2]

Triaminic Background

First manufactured in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1956, the original Triaminic product line included:

  • Triaminic Syrups (for Cold & Allergy)
  • Triaminic Expectorant (for Chest & Nasal Congestion)
  • Triaminic DM (for Long Acting Cough)

Triaminic introduced the children's cough and cold Triaminic Thin Strips in 2004. Thin Strips are placed on the tongue to dissolve, providing a pre-measured amount of medicine in each strip to help ensure accurate dosing. In July 2010, an acetaminophen-based product, Triaminic Fever Reducer Pain Reliever, was introduced to the Triaminic product line. [5]

Novartis, the manufacturer of Triaminic, has voluntarily changed the labels of their children's medicines in cooperation with the FDA to help avoid unintentional product misuse. The labels will now include: "Do not use for children under age 4." In addition, labels of products containing antihistamines will indicate that the products should not be used "for the purpose of making your child sleepy."[4]
