About the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club
Walgreens Prescription Club offers discounts on both brand name and generic medicines, including 400 generics that cost $12 for a 90-day supply or $9.99 for a month's supply.[4] Savings can be used at all Walgreens nationwide, and include pet prescriptions.[1]
- Eligibility - Customers must live in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, and not be enrolled in any other public funded health care program. This includes Medicare, TRICARE, and Medicaid. There are no requirements when it comes to age, health issues, or income level. No medical exams need to be conducted to join the plan, and no proof of income is required.[1]
- Benefits - Available medications cover all drug classes and most common or chronic health conditions, including insulin and diabetic supplies. Additional benefits include pet medication coverage and a 10% discount on purchases of Walgreens brand products, as well as Walgreens photofinishing. There is also a 10% discount for the flu shot. Benefits may be redeemed at all Walgreens locations.[5]
- Costs - Annual enrollment for an individual is $20. Family enrollment is $35 each year and includes spouses, dependents under the age of 23, and pets.[1]

How to Sign up for Walgreens Prescription Savings Club
There are two ways to sign up for the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club: online or at a Walgreens Pharmacy. Enrollment only takes a few minutes, and consumers will receive their cards by standard mail within 10-14 days. Upon enrollment, Walgreens issues a temporary card that may be used for immediate savings.[1]
Walgreens Wellness Benefit
In addition to the Walgreens Prescription Club, the retailer also offers an over-the-counter savings program called Walgreens Wellness Benefit that employers and health plans may give to employees or plan members. The program issues cards that can be used on items like cholesterol tests, vitamins, first-aid supplies like bandages, toothbrushes, toothpaste, reading glasses and thermometers. The program is tailored to the specifications of the employer or health plan that purchases it, and will only include the items that they choose to cover.[6]
